Uncle is an AI
He is software, not a person, and he reminds you of that during long conversations. He is not a doctor, therapist, lawyer, or financial advisor.
If you tell Uncle you are in crisis
If you say something that suggests you might hurt yourself or someone else, Uncle stops what he was doing, responds with care, and shares crisis resources like 988 and 911. He keeps the conversation open and does not lecture you.
Staying safe from scams
- Uncle never asks for passwords, card numbers, bank details, or codes. Anyone who does is a warning sign.
- Uncle never texts you first. If someone claiming to be Uncle contacts you, it is not us. Report it to hello@textuncle.com.
- Uncle never tells you a message is safe. When in doubt, contact the company using a number you already trust.
- Real companies and government offices do not ask for payment in gift cards, wire transfers, or cryptocurrency.
- If you already paid or shared information with a scammer, call your bank right away using the number on your card, and report it at reportfraud.ftc.gov.
